This Privacy Policy explains how SIA “Handwave” (“Handwave”, “we”, “us”) processes personal data in connection with handwave.com (the “Site”), including information submitted through the Site's forms.

 

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Site. It does not apply to the Handwave application, biometric onboarding or Handwave biometric services, which are subject to separate privacy information.

Personal Data We Process

 

We may process:

  • information you provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, company and information submitted through our waitlist, partner or other website forms or communications; and

  • limited technical information processed when you use the Site, such as IP address, browser or device information, access logs and information generated through essential cookies and similar technologies.

 

Please do not provide special categories of personal data through the Site, as Handwave does not request or require such information.

Why We Process Personal Data

 

We process personal data for the following purposes and legal bases:

  • Operating and securing the Site – based on our legitimate interests in maintaining a secure and functional website.

  • Consumer and partner waitlists, product updates and marketing communications – based on your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

  • Responding to partner and business enquiries and assessing potential business relationships – based on our legitimate interests in communicating with prospective partners and developing our business.

  • Responding to other communications – based on our legitimate interests in managing enquiries and correspondence.

  • Complying with legal obligations and establishing, exercising or defending legal claims – where required by law or based on our legitimate interests.

Cookies and Website Technologies

 

The Site uses essential cookies and similar technologies required for purposes such as security, fraud prevention, stability, website rendering and performance, and managing cookie preferences.

 

Handwave does not use cookies for advertising, profiling or behavioural analytics.

 

If non-essential cookies or similar technologies are introduced, they will be used only in accordance with applicable law and, where required, after obtaining your consent. Cookie preferences may be managed through the cookie consent tool available on the Site.

 

Sharing Personal Data

 

We do not sell or rent personal data.

  • where required by law or a lawful request from a competent authority;

  • where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights; or

  • technical and security information is retained for as long as necessary to operate, secure and maintain the Site.

 

Personal data may be retained for longer where necessary to comply with legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss or destruction.

 

Access to personal data is restricted according to role and business need and is subject to confidentiality obligations.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data State Inspectorate of Latvia (Datu valsts inspekcija) or another competent supervisory authority.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version and its “Last updated” date will be published on this page.

 

Where required by law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
